Saris Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2020 Ford F-150- Video
Hi, everyone, it's Evangeline right here at Etrailer, and today, we'll be taking a look at the Saris MHS three-bike kit and see how it fits here on our 2020 Ford F-150. So the MHS is gonna be a modular system, that's what MHS stands for, and our specific kit here has the three DUO trays. We have the DUO trays just because these are gonna be our heavy duty, heavy weight capacity, and versatile trays that are able to carry bikes of different shapes and sizes. So if you need to carry around your heavy electric bikes, the DUO tray is what you're going to want to get. Now, the first two trays are gonna have a weight capacity of 80 pounds per bike, but then your further out trays are gonna have lesser weight capacity. So 35 pounds for this third tray. more

Swagman E-Spec 2-Electric Bike Platform Rack Review - 2023 Ford F-150- Video
How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Swagman Espec on our 2023, Ford F-150. Going with a hitch mounted bike carrier is a great way to bring your bikes along with you when you're not towing with your hitch and you still need the space in your bed. It's a good way also to keep your bike stable and secure when you're on the road versus just loading it in the back of your truck, also. The Espec is a platform style bike carrier that is frame mounted. So essentially what that is, you're gonna have a hook that makes contact with your frame and your front and rear wheel are gonna strap into cradles. If you have a carbon fiber frame bike or a nice paint job or maybe even an unconventional frame, this wouldn't be the best option for you. more

Hey, everyone. It's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we have the Hollywood Racks Destination Two-Bike Platform Rack. We'll take a look at how it fits our 2020 Ford F-150. Now the Destination Two is ideal if you're looking for a portable, compact, and lightweight bike rack. Also, this is great for if you have smaller children's bikes or bikes that have really small frames because of the versatility of this rack. The downside though, is it has a pretty low weight capacity of 35 pounds per bike. more

Swagman Skaha 2 Electric Bikes Rack Review - 2020 Ford F-150- Video
Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Swagman Skaha 2 Hitch Bike Rack and how it fits on our 2020 Ford F-150. The Skaha 2 is gonna be a two bike platform style rack, capable of holding two bikes, up to 60 pounds apiece, and it's gonna be primarily with this wheel hook here, as well as one strap down here at the back, so there's no frame contact at all. We're gonna dust support 60 pound bikes, so you can get most of the bikes that you can think of on here whether that's mountain, road or up to e-bikes. Again, as long as they do fit in that 60 pound weight limit, because there is no frame contact. You can get carbon frame and alternative frame sound bikes on here too. more

This is going to be a platform style rack, like I mentioned. So it's gonna hold our bikes up by the tires and it's gonna make primary contact with our bike right here at the front with this wheel hook and one strap down here at the bottom. So it doesn't make any frame contact. If we wanna use this with our carbon frame bikes, that'll be just fine. If we have a really nice paint job, same thing. more

This is gonna be a hitch-mounted bike rack capable of carrying up to two bikes. It's gonna hold those bikes by the front tire, which means it doesn't make any frame contact with your bike. There's a secondary point of contact at the back wheel with a strap holding it down, and it gets a really strong hold on the bikes. more

We have two arms here as our dual wheel mount design but we also have two straps down at the bottom. So you can use this with pretty much any bike that you can think of, whether that's carbon frame, alternative frame, it's got the weight capacity for e-bikes. You can even get bikes with fenders on here because we don't have to put these up by the forks. more

Hey, how's it going, everyone Today we are going to be taking a look at the Yakima FullTilt hanging style bike rack. We're gonna see how it fits on our 2021 Ford F-150. Because it is a hanging style rack, it's going to make primary contact with our bike up here on the top tube, which means a couple of things. First and foremost that we aren't going to want to use this with our carbon frame bikes. This could potentially damage that while we're driving. Also, if you have a really aggressive alternative frame style bike or a kid's bike, you're gonna have to pick up a bike adapter bar most likely to make it work and fit across the top, similar to this. more

Hey, how's it goin' everybody Today we are going to be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination 2 Hitch Bike Rack, and how it fits on our 2021 Ford F-150. The Destination is going to be, like I mentioned, a two-bike rack. It's gonna be a platform-style rack, which means it holds our bike up by the tires down here at the bottom. In our case, our primary mode of contact is gonna be the center mast here in the middle with these rotated padded clamps, and then two straps, one at the front, one at the back. So because it does make that frame contact, we do recommend against using carbon frames, or if you have a nice paint job, just avoiding that. And if you have an alternative style frame, because we can go up and down the mast a little bit it should help, but you might have to be creative with that. more

The base is going to be a two-bike platform style bike rack, capable of supporting up to 60 pounds per bike. In this case, we have our e-bike already loaded up so it is suitable for your e-bike purposes, but you can also get your carbon frame bikes on here 'cause we don't make any frame contact, or alternative frames if you want to. It does have an adaptor kit for you to get some kids bikes on here as well. We do have this primary wheel hook here as our main form of holding onto our bike, and we have one strap down here at the bottom just for a little bit of extra support. So, there are tons of features that come with this rack. more

How's it going everybody Today, we are going to be taking a look at the Hollywood Rack Sport Rider SE Hitch Bike Rack, and looking how it fits on our 2021 Ford F-150. This is going to be a two-bike platform style rack, capable of supporting up to 80 pounds per bike which is a lot for a hitch bike rack. So, you can definitely get a couple of E-bikes on here if you'd like to. But we do have a primary contact point of this frame hook here in the middle on our center mast. So, if you wanna use this with your carbon frame bikes I'd recommend against it because we do make frame contact. Although they are padded, we are still pushing down and could potentially damage our frames while we're moving. more

How's it going everybody Today we are going to be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination E hitch bike rack and how it fits on our 2021 Ford F-150. The Destination E is going to be designed for e-bikes at buying. It has a weight capacity of 70 pounds per bike. It's gonna hold it up primarily with these trays and cradles down here on the bottom. And our primary point of contact is going to be these rotated padded jaws here on our center mast which is going to hold our bike securely. But because it does make frame contact we'd recommend not using this with carbon frame bikes but because it is able to rotate so much, it should work for a lot of your alternative frame style bikes. more

Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima OnRamp and seeing how it fits in the back of our 2020 Ford F-150. This platform style bike rack is gonna be able to support up to two bikes and be designed to carry e-bikes. It's got a 66 pound weight capacity per bike and holds the bike by clamping around the frame. We've got this piece right here which slides up and down the mast, easier to move if you loosen the hand knob, and can rotate around to adapt to different frame styles. This strap will wrap around the frame and hold it into the padded cradle right here. more

So this bike rack is a great all around bike rack at an affordable price compared to similar racks. You got your great weight capacity for your heavy bikes, you have that front wheel mount. So even if you have a carbon fiber frame bike or woman's bike or alternate frame, this is gonna work out for you. Now, some things that won't work out is things like the tilt away. We can tilt this bike rack away and it goes down a decent bit but not enough where we can completely lower our tailgate. more

That's gonna mean frame contact which does mean we wanna avoid carbon frame bikes but with the way that clamp actually rotates and pivots 360 degrees, it will work out pretty well for alternative frame bikes. Now this is a really nice bike rack, if you are looking for something that has all the cool premium features and can carry your carbon frame bikes or alternate frame bikes. One of its features that you can tilt away, and to do so he just pull on this lever right over here and this allows it to drop down. Now we can't completely lower our tailgate, but we can bring it just enough down if we need to throw something in there or grab something out of our truck bed, without having to take the bike rack off completely. So that's just something to keep in mind is that you can't completely access your tailgate, but just enough to grab whatever you need. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Ford F150, we'll be taking a look at the Yakima Holdup Platform-Style 2-Bike Rack, that part number is: Y02443.Now, we already have our bike secured down, we're first going to show you one of the key features of this rack. The key feature is going to be our tilt. We're going to lift up slightly on the back and pull out on the red pin closest to our vehicle. When we pull that out, we can tilt our bike rack away from our vehicle. Unfortunately, at this point, we're not going to gain full access into our tailgate, or our truck bed. We can have somebody hold our tailgate and grab out those smaller items that you might need. more

We're first going to show you one of the key features of this rack. We're going to come here to the back to our handle underneath, we're going to pull out, we'll be able to tilt our bike rack away from our vehicle with our bikes fully loaded.In this position we are not going to gain full access into our truck bed. We will get quite a bit of access here though so if you have somebody hold on to you tailgate, you can gain most of your access to your bed.Then to put our bike rack back into place, we simply lift up until it clicks. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Ram 1500, we're doing a test-fit of the RockyMounts BackStage Platform-Style 2-Bike Rack, part number: RKY10002.Now, we already have our bike secured down, we're first going to show you one of the key features of this rack. Now, one thing to note, you'll see where our handle is down here, we want to make sure that it's turned to the side so that we can tilt our bike rack away from our vehicle all the way. To tilt it, we're going to pull out on our blue handle here at the back.We'll be able to tilt that down, away from our vehicle. I like to move my pedal so that it's up higher, but you'll see that we're not going to be able to gain full access into our back truck-bed area in this position. That is okay though because we do have another position, which will allow us to gain full access.To do that, we'll start by lifting up until our bike rack locks into place, and we can loosen up our handle all the way. We're going to loosen this up completely, but it will not come out of our hitch. more

Speaker 1: Today with our 2016 Ford F-150 SuperCab, we're going to be showing you how it interact with our RockyMounts BackStage Swinging Platform Style Two-Bike Rack, part number RKY10002.What I like best about this bike rack is it has the ability to swing away, giving you full access to your truck bed or tail gate, unlike other bike racks that just tilt away, giving you partial access. To swing it back in, we can operate our two knobs. Lift up the one on the center here. We'll start bringing it in, and then we'll lift up the one on the end here and start swinging it out. Then, our blue hand knob secures it in place.It can also tilt away giving you partial bed access, and the handle is here at the rear, making it even easier. I'll lift that back up in place until it snaps in. more

Yakima SwingDaddy Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2017 Ford F-150- Video
Today on our 2017 Ford F-150, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima SwingDaddy Four-Bike Rack for 2" Hitches, part number Y02464. Now, one of the more important features about this rack is the fact that this can swing away from the vehicle giving you full access to your truck bed, if necessary. This is pretty unique for a hanging-style bike rack. To do that, we'll come to the back first. You'll see this turn knob here. Loosen it up by turning it to the left all the way till it sticks out like so. Then, you come to this switch here, lift up and pull out. You'll pull out till it's about 90 degrees, around this area here. more

Thule Doubletrack Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2017 Ford F-150- Video
Today on our 2017 Ford F150 we're going to be test fitting the Thule Doubletrack platform-style 2-bike rack for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number TH990XT. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. How this bike is attached to the rack, we'll have three points of contact. We're going to have a padded frame hook up at the top. It's padded to make sure that the frame of your bike doesn't get scratched up once it's being installed. more

We already have our bike secured down, first I'm going to show you one of the key features of this rack. I'm going to come here to the middle and we're going to pull down on this lever and that's going to allow us to tilt our bike rack ,with our bikes fully loaded, away from our vehicle. Now we'll check our tailgate. You'll see that we would make contact with our bike, but in this position we are able to get a few things in our out that we may need. more
